In Canada, the current ARGALL families are mainly descended from two
different family groups. The first group
stem from Martin and Elizabeth Ann (Paul)
Argall who migrated to Newcastle, Ontario, from St Erme in Cornwall in
1842, having abandoned their farming enterprise.
The second group stems from the union of John Argall and Sophia Sleeman who
settled in the Three Rivers area of Quebec Province around 1890.
There are other groups are also descended from single immigrant Argall
individuals who settled there subsequently. Whilst ARGALLs are
scattered throughout all the provinces of Canada, the main concentrations are
still Ontario and Quebec, the homes of the original settlers.
